It was an unexpected moment when crowds of hungry customers stood staring as the 4-year-old Michaela ran to her mum; tears hysterically running down her face as she sobbed into her mother's arms. Something had to have happened, but no one could pinpoint anything.

Nicole, Michaela's mother, was visibly upset and surprised at the sudden turn of events, but she put on her parent pants and sprang into action. "What's the matter?" Nicole frantically asked, but Michaela couldn't speak; she was sobbing as if she was in pain. Then Nicole saw it - there was something on Michaela's leg.

Happy New Year? 

 

The Fun Park

The duo arrived at the park, and with the harsh sun shimmering down on them, Kayla ran towards the merry-go-round and asked her mother to spin her. Nicole obliged and could hear Kayla's giggling all over the park. She was having the time of her life!

Inevitably, Nicole had to answer a phone call as Kayla made her way to the slides. Suddenly there was a sharp scream in the air, and Nicole was horrified to find out that it's her daughter letting out the yell. Nicole rushed to her side to assess the situation and made a disturbing discovery.

 

Location Matters 

Sadly, Nicole's daughter had fallen off the swings, injuring her hand in the process. There was a visible graze on it, and Kayla was in pain, sobbing uncontrollably. Nicole took Kayla in her arms and did her best to comfort her distressed child.

After a short while, Kayla regained some composure and requested her mother that they go for lunch. Without further ado, they set off for the nearest McDonald's that was just about 10 minutes away. It was time to eat, and this would definitely lift the young one's spirits. But, little did they know they had picked the wrong venue.

 

Sketchy Teens 

Nicole and Kayla walked into the food establishment, and lucky for them, only a handful of people were spread out over the polished green tables. Immediately, Nicole took notice of a group of teenagers in one corner of the restaurant.

The kids looked harmless and unperturbed, idly listening to music as they sipped on their drinks. It was typical teens doing teenager things. Suddenly, two of the teenagers shifted their attention to Nicole and Kayla, and they snickered. This was entirely off-character, considering they were not even remotely interested in the duo just a minute ago.

 

Order Up 

After a while, Nicole and Kayla finally got their turn at the counter, and they started placing their order. Nicole asked Kayla to wait for her at one of the corner tables as she sorted out their lunch. The kid walked off to the table with her mother's phone in her hand as she watched a YouTube video.

Everything seemed calm, and nothing could go wrong. This was, after all, a child-friendly restaurant, and they have been here before, so Nicole was acting out of habit. Suddenly, the quietness of the area was broken by a piercing scream.

 

Fight! Fight! Fight! 

Apparently, the teens sitting in the restaurant corner had broken into a fight, yelling at each other. Nicole promptly walked to Kayla and comforted her, trying to calm and distract the child with a video on the internet.

Luckily, staff members were quick to act, and they managed to break up the fight and promptly kicked the rowdy teens out of the restaurant. However, two teens remained at the table, and in hindsight, this was a little suspicious considering they were part of the unruly bunch. That being said, at the time, two teenage girls seemed relatively harmless.

 

Bon Appetit 

After the skirmish, Nicole and Kayla's lunch was long overdue. The aroma of fresh burgers and fries made the wait even more unbearable, and our dynamic duo was ready to wolf down their meal.

Kayla had settled on the iconic happy meal, and her mother was having a chicken burger with some fries. Things were going great until Kayla suddenly looked at Nicole with a serious look on her face filled with innocence. The little girl carefully but firmly whispered, "I need the toilet," to Nicole. The meal had been cut short by the sudden call of nature, and when it calls, you must answer.

 

The Call 

As soon as Kayla took the last bite of her delicious cheeseburger, she wiped her hands and went straight towards the washroom. However, she immediately noticed that the lock was in place and figured the loo was occupied. Kayla turned to Nicole, who gave her a reassuring smile.

Suddenly, Kayla heard something, and it was coming from the toilet. It seemed her suspicions were on point, and someone was indeed using the bathroom. Yet, this isn't your everyday story, so something was definitely amiss for the little girl to take such a keen interest in the noise.

 

Double Trouble 

Instead of the usual toilet noises you'd expect, like flushing, Kayla could hear giggles and laughter instead. This was weird, considering the toilet was meant for one person at a time. Anyway, Kayla waited patiently for around ten minutes before the door flew open, and a pair of familiar faces walked out.

The two teenage girls from earlier exited the loo together with an unmistakable smirk smeared across their faces. Nicole saw the girls pass her daughter, but she didn't pay them any mind as she signaled Kayla to head in. She told her daughter she'd be with her shortly as Kayla shut the door.

 

MOM! 

No sooner had the door closed, Kayla ran out of the bathroom screaming, "MOM!" in the most terrified tone. This is probably one of the scariest things you can hear from your child, and Nicole was understandably shaken and upset by the turn of events.

Nicole immediately shot up from her seat, and her bag fell to the floor as Kayla ran into her arms, sobbing and crying. Amid the tears, Kayla asked her mother to go into the bathroom and have a look inside. It seemed like the two teenagers had left a nasty surprise for the little one, if you catch our drift.

 

Nothing to See Here 

Nicole walked into the toilet expecting a nightmarish sight, but she was surprised to find the bathroom in mint condition. The smell of antiseptic and bleach were the main antagonists, and a few toilet rolls scattered on the floor were their minions. Other than that, nothing was out of the ordinary.

However, being a mother, Nicole wasn't ready to dismiss Kayla's outburst just yet, and she did a deeper scan of the loo, hoping to find something amiss sooner than later. Just as she was about to give up and fetch her daughter, she noticed it.

 

Wrath!

At first glance, everything seemed handy dandy, but you could see a white sticky substance covering the toilet seat upon closer inspection. It looked like a white film of some sort, but she immediately realized what it was as soon as Nicole got closer.

Someone had purposefully smothered a healthy layer of super glue all over the toilet seat. Nicole was boiling with fury at this point, and she burst out of the toilet yelling and screaming for the manager and the staff members in the vicinity. Justice must be served, and you know what they say: Hell hath no fury as a mother scorned.

 

Crisis Mode

Nicole quickly rushed to her daughter, who was still sobbing and crying in pain. Kayla was visibly distressed, and Nicole immediately went to examine her hoping for a miracle. However, a miracle is far from what she discovered as her daughter's skin was raw on the back of her legs.

Nicole was livid, and Kayla was scared and in tears. "We need help!" Nicole yelled out to the curious crowd of onlookers, trying her best to hold back her tears. This was a rough situation that no one would be prepared for, so the mother did her best to manage the scenario.

 

A First Time for Everything

The assistant manager at the branch, Joanna, thought she had seen it all, from petty fights over BigMacs to drunk and disorderly customers and unruly teens. She was a pro at diffusing heated moments and was quick on her feet to figure out a solution whenever trouble arose.

However, even veterans get surprised sometimes, and in Joanna's 15-year career in the hospitality industry, this was her first time witnessing something so inhumane. She was as surprised as the other patrons, and for the first time in a while, the lady wasn't sure how to handle the situation.

 

She Wants Justice

The McDonald's staff didn't waste time helping the distressed child. Joanna and her team started administering first aid, cleaning the wound, and bandaging Kayla. All the while, Kayla sobbed into her mom's chest due to the pain and frustration she felt.

Nicole knew the first aid was a stop-gap measure, and she decided she had to take Kayla to the hospital. She started making arrangements and called a family member to come to pick them up. Still, this wasn't enough for the mother, and she knew she had to do more to get some justice for her child.

 

The Court Of Public Opinion

The only way she could find the perpetrators as if they stepped forward or someone identified them. Therefore, Nicole took matters into her own hands and posted on her social media page’s timeline hoping the pranksters would be identified ASAP and brought to justice.

"To the two young blonde girls that thought it would be funny to put super glue on the disabled and baby toilet in McDonald's, you should know that I still have to comfort my four-year-old child who was unlucky enough to use the toilet after your mean little prank." Nicole wrote. Kayla deserved better than this.

 

Distasteful Prank

Luckily, a brief investigation was more than enough to identify the girls, and police managed to interview them. The two girls quickly realized their mistake and admitted their regret for pulling off such a distasteful prank. One of the girls told Nicole it was a prank gone wrong.

Still, was this enough for Nicole and Kayla, who'd be forced to live with such a terrible and scarring memory? This is not a simple fart cushion prank, someone got hurt, and as much as the girls were remorseful, the damage had been done, and they deserved to face the consequences.

Justice At Last

Nicole couldn't help but let out a sigh of relief when she got the news that police had taken appropriate measures against the pranksters. It had been a few weeks since the ordeal, so the wound was still fresh on the mother's mind.

Watching her daughter playing with her Barbies as she clutches her tea, Nicole can't help but smile at herself, happy that some justice had been served. Her quick thinking had salvaged an otherwise terrible situation, and Kayla was safe. On the other hand, the perpetrators were identified and had to answer for their crime.

 

Think Twice

Now that is what we call a rollercoaster of events. As much as pranks can be fun and harmless, they can result in disastrous chain reactions and negative results if not carefully thought out.

Hopefully, Nicole and Kayla's ordeal will be more than enough to remind pranksters that their actions have consequences, and they could seriously hurt and upset people. On the other hand, you never know who you might be upsetting. In this case, Nicole was just an innocent mom who just wanted to ensure her daughter was ok; had it been someone else, maybe things wouldn't have ended with just an online plea and a police investigation.
