Daddy, It's Your Turn Now!
Many parents have to travel for work. But thanks to the internet, many heartwarming stories of reunions between folks and their children exist. One such story involves two kids who had to go without their father for weeks. Their mother had apparently given up on the job of parenting, though the sign must simply be a way to express how excited they were for their dad's return.
After months of caring for the kids on her own, it's understandable that the mom wanted a break. A 2018 study led by Welch's discovered being a mother is like working 2.5 full-time jobs!
An Artist's Perfect Canvas
New parents often receive advice from experienced ones to never leave anything meaningful or valuable in their children's reach. Unfortunately, one father discovered this lesson the hard way.
A Chinese family was vacationing in South Korea when their four-year-old put his budding artistic skills to the test on his father's visa. His dad could only watch in shock as he presented this to the check-in counter. The officer probably thought this was a prank; unfortunately, that's not the case. The father had to contact the local embassy to return home. We can only hope the child was not harshly punished for his creative expression on the wrong canvas.
Airport Yoga, Anyone?
Staying stationary for hours on end can be detrimental to one's health. That is why Dr. Catherine Sonquist Forest has suggested walking around the plane during a flight to get the blood flowing. This person, however, has gone the extra mile. They have packed a yoga mat and are using their layover to stretch for a while.
It seems like they have been doing it for a while, as the bystanders don't seem interested in what they are doing. This also shows that if you care about your wellness, you can find ways to stay active even in the most unexpected places.
Just Like The Movies
This beautiful moment of airport madness is truly a sight to behold. The couple is obviously madly in love, and their happiness is palpable. This romantic scene could easily be taken straight out of a rom-com.
The man went above and beyond, making the trip to the airport to pick up his beloved and even getting down on one knee to propose. The surrounding people appear just as ecstatic as the pair, and the look on the girl's face shows that she said yes. It is a rare instance of pure bliss and joy that will surely be remembered for years after marriage.
Snow Globes And Durians Have This In Common
Traveling during Christmas often means bringing lots of gifts for loved ones. Snow globes are a popular item to give; unfortunately, they are not allowed in carry-on luggage due to safety concerns. Measuring the liquid inside them is impossible, making them a potential security risk.
Another strange item not allowed on planes is durian, a fruit from Asia with a pungent smell. This is why it is banned from airplanes in countries like Thailand, Japan, and Hong Kong. Travelers should know what items are allowed in their carry-on luggage to ensure a safe and smooth journey. Although, it can be disappointing for those looking forward to bringing them along.
Airport Runway Ready As Always
When it comes to airport getups, comfort usually precedes style. However, this woman chose to take her own approach. She was dressed to the nines, with her sunglasses, handbag, and blonde locks all adding to the supermodel look. Her long skintight clothing might be too much for air travel, but her curves helped keep some eyes open and alert.
Although this was the airport, she wasn't afraid to stand out and make a statement with her outfit. Whether people admired her look or not, it is evident that she was confident in her own fashion choices. That's all that matters, right?
This Selfie Is A Fake Flex
Daniel Centeno is a Brazilian pilot who caused a stir among internet users a few years ago when he posted a remarkable selfie in mid-air. The selfie was taken while he was flying above the manufactured Palm Islands in Dubai, and people were surprised to see how he had managed to get it.
It was rumored he had opened the shutters, a major no-no for pilots, thousands of feet in the air. However, it was later revealed that Centeno had merely used his advanced Photoshop skills to edit an aerial shot of the Palm Islands and turn it into a selfie, giving the illusion that he was taking the photo from above.
This Man Knows What's Up
It is said that a happy wife makes for a happy life, and one man indeed tested this theory when his wife returned home after being away on a trip. He had dressed as a chauffeur to greet her and created a unique and memorable Welcome Home sign.
He was clearly trying to make an impression and show his wife how much he had missed her. His effort was certainly worth it, and we can only imagine the smile that must have come to her face. It's a reminder that a little bit of effort can go a long way, especially when it comes to relationships.
When Booty Calls
It is an honor to say that one's significant other is serving their country. Still, it is not always a joyful occasion. When a loved one has to be away for an extended period of time, uncertainty and fear can take over. This woman in the photo was waiting for her soldier, ecstatic to be reunited with him finally.
Her homemade sign for him uniquely expressed her joy and made the reunion even more special. Although it was intimate, those around them must feel their true love. The military can take away a lot but can't take away the love shared between two people.
Ma'am, That's Being A Bit Too Comfortable
The experience of a frequent flyer is unique, with the need to adjust to changing conditions at airports with every journey. The challenge is real, from different time zones and climatic conditions to delays and airport regulations. When at the final destination or spending time on a layover, it is natural to want to feel comfortable.
In this instance, the woman seems to be removing her T-shirt to make herself feel more refreshed. It could be because she has arrived at a tropical location and wanted to free up her clothing. This might not be an uncommon act, but it is only the beginning of interesting scenarios spotted in airports.
Crossing Borders For A Safer Haven
Humboldt Penguins are an endangered species of South American Penguins in Chile and Peru. Human intrusion, rat infestations, and environmental conditions have caused a notable decrease in their population, reports Phys.Org.
This image captures two of these penguins checking in at an airport after being saved by animal conservationists. They were on their way to an island off the coast of Port Elizabeth in South Africa, where they would be safe from harm. This airline deserves recognition for transporting these animals to their new home. Thanks to their efforts, these two penguin buddies can live safely. Such acts of kindness and compassion should be encouraged so that other creatures can be preserved and protected.
Ever Seen A Runway Rush Hour?
As soon as eyes are laid on this incredible picture, one's heart is likely to skip a beat as the sheer amount of traffic in the airport is so captivating. Captured by Mike Kelley, this image is called Wake Turbulence.
The talented photographer spent eight hours taking photos of the arrivals and departures of airplanes at Los Angeles International Airport. He then edited and merged them, giving the illusion of a buzzing runway. Amazingly, this art can be purchased at a price ranging from $750 to $1.9K. Honestly, this is one of the most captivating photographs of an airport ever taken.
One Cool K-9 Wildlife Control Officer
Cherry Capital Airport in Michigan faced a unique challenge in its day-to-day operations—wild animals would often disrupt workflows. The airport hired a K-9 wildlife control officer, an adorable Border Collie named Piper, to tackle this issue.
Thanks to Piper, the airport staff no longer had to worry about wildlife interrupting their daily operations as the collie was able to chase away the animals. The pup served the airport faithfully for three years and managed to scare away 8,367 birds. Sadly, in January 2018, Piper had to retire after chasing away his last bird. Though gone, the pooch will always be remembered for his service to the airport.
When Forrest Gump Comes To Town
Do you like the classic movie "Forrest Gump," starring Tom Hanks? If so, you will be taken back to 1994 when you see this photo. This man had to be a devoted fan, dressed up as the iconic character while traveling through the Nashville International Airport.
It is remarkable how much he looks like Gump; he nailed every detail, from his outfit to the haircut to the Nike sneakers! Although no one tried to engage him in conversation, one can only wonder if his destination was to search for Jenny Curran, as depicted in the comedy-drama based on the 1986 eponymous novel.
Even This Daughter Looks Surprised
Harper's mom showed her creative side when she put a unique spin on Carly Rae Jepsen's 2012 hit song, "Call Me Maybe," for a special occasion. But even the toddler looked surprised by what was going on.
Harper's military dad was meeting her for the first time, and a signboard was created to commemorate the momentous occasion. It was full of love and emotion and was one of the most beautiful ones on this list. Those who read the sign probably sang the song in their heads as they read it as we did. It was a lovely way of introducing a new member of the family.
Dying From A Jet Blast Is A Thing
When you visit an airport, there are many signs you need to be aware of. One of these signs, in particular, is the jet blast hazard sign. This sign warns people of the strong air pressure created by an airplane's exhaust gases when taking off or landing.
At St. Maarten's Princess Juliana Airport in New Zealand, the management took extra precautionary measures and erected this sign. Unfortunately, the warning was insufficient to prevent the tragedy of a woman getting killed by a jet blast in 2017. It serves as a reminder of the importance of taking all safety signs seriously and heeding the warnings.
Perks Of Being A Pilot
This pilot seemed prepared for a stowaway, although she should have picked a place more secure. Just kidding, though; it wasn't what it seemed. She was simply posing for a unique photograph near the engine, likely to post it on social media. After all, why would she try to sneak on a plane when pilots fly for free on the aircraft they manage?
We presume she went straight to the cockpit after the snap, as the passengers must have been waiting. She was probably ready to take off and safely get the passengers to their destination. It was a great snapshot of her passion for flying and her capabilities as a pilot.
Mokie's Face Says It All
Mokie was in for a surprise when he returned home from his travels. His two best friends decided to take the opportunity to embarrass him in a very public space—the airport. To do this, they had taken an old photo of Mokie and enlarged it to a few dozen sizes. They then held up the picture to be seen by all the travelers, employees, and bystanders.
Mokie must have been both embarrassed and amused in equal measure. He might've even done the same facial expression. It is a testament to the strength of their friendship that his friends could joke around with him in such a way.
Getting Touchy With A Kardashian
In recent years, airport security has become increasingly tight to prevent terrorism, smuggling activities, and more. People have had to develop creative solutions to get around these measures, ultimately leading to a stricter security presence. If someone were to set off the full-body scanner, a second search would be conducted using a portable scanner and a security officer of the same gender.
This can be a rather uncomfortable experience, as was evident in 2010 when Kim Kardashian was frisked at LAX airport. The picture of the incident shows the guard making sure to search every inch of the "Keeping Up With The Kardashians" star's body.
A Puzzling Case Of The Airport Polar Bear
It's not often that one can tell their friends that they spotted animals while boarding an aircraft! So when that's the case, it's exhilarating to report the sighting of a polar bear at the runway of an Alaskan airport!
Polar bears, the Arctic's top predator, typically live in cold habitats, so it's not too far-fetched for one to have been spotted there. It was a lucky day for those on the plane to witness such a magnificent sight. However, we must ensure no harm comes to these creatures in the retrieval process, as this species is endangered and requires protection.
Dogs Must Love This Place
The San Diego International Airport has surprised us with its dog-friendliness. According to Dogs On Planes, it was the first airport in the United States to provide a pet-relief area equipped with a bright red fire hydrant.
Despite its admirable efforts, the immense size of the airport makes it difficult to accommodate the large number of pet owners looking to take a break with their furry friends. Unfortunately, this often leads to long lines at the single pet-relief station, with passionate canine lovers patiently waiting their turn. Still, kudos to airports like theirs for being more welcoming to our fur babies.
Some Next Level Kid Tantrum
Traveling by plane can be an arduous experience, particularly if your flight is delayed or you have a long layover. This can be especially difficult for parents, as kids can get fussy and irritable when their routine is disrupted. Keeping their energy and spirits up can be hard when they can't run around or play with their toys so they may get frustrated and grumpy.
This was the case for one young girl, who, in her exasperation, lay down on a conveyor belt in protest. It shows how difficult it can be for a parent to manage such situations. Hopefully, they found a way to convince her to get off.
Resting, But Not Really
The seating available at airports can range from comfortable to not-so-comfortable. Some rows of chairs have armrests while others do not, making it difficult to get some sleep. In this case, the seating arrangement is not the most conducive to sleep. However, some people can be creative and find a way to try and get some rest.
This man has laid his head on a hand carrier and put his legs over the seat's backrest. He appears not to be concerned about who is watching him as long as he can get some much-needed rest. Although we may be worried about his comfort level, he appears unconcerned.
Is This Really Necessary?
Air travel can be quite a hassle, especially with all the security checks. You may still be selected for additional one-on-one screening if you follow all the guidelines. This means you have to permit a stranger to inspect your body, which can be a very uncomfortable experience even for celebrities, as we've already seen.
To make matters worse, you must remove items such as shoes, watches, belts, and other metal objects before passing through the full-body scanner. The photo accompanying the article captures this moment perfectly, showing a woman about to be searched by a security officer. Unfortunately, it's a necessary inconvenience that comes with air travel.
A Man Ahead Of His Time
The year 2020 brought many challenges, not least of which was the pandemic. Businesses in all industries, including tourism, felt the effects of the virus. According to The Guardian, airlines were particularly hard hit due to travel restrictions, with Virgin Atlantic filing for bankruptcy in August 2020.
Although the virus still has a grip on the world, many businesses are beginning to rebound. Airplane passengers must adhere to numerous rules, including wearing protective gear to protect themselves and others. The picture featured in the article could have been taken before all of it. He seems to be a germaphobe—or perhaps he's just ahead of his time.
She Found The Best Nap Spot
Maintaining energy and functioning can be difficult when travels are long or the flights are delayed. This was one woman's experience at an airport, where the armrests on the seats made it impossible to lie down for a nap. However, she was resourceful and made them work in her favor.
She tucked herself between chairs, almost as if they were safety buckles, offering her the support she needed to rest comfortably. This is an excellent solution for restless sleepers, providing a safe and secure way to catch up on some much-needed shuteye. We hope she remembered to set the alarm to ensure she woke up on time!
The Scariest Kind of Déjà Vu
Vnukovo International Airport in Russia is not ideal for anyone afraid of flying. This is because, in December 2010, Dagestan Airlines Flight 372 experienced a devastating engine failure that resulted in a crash. The wreckage remains visible from the sky, so passengers taking off and landing can see what happened.
This site will surely be incredibly disconcerting for those with anxiety about flying. It can even cause fear in those who feel confident in the air, as it's doing with us. Seeing the wreckage up close like that will likely induce further panic and unease. Hence, better avoid it altogether instead.
This Greeting Is A Bit Extra
A flight attendant has taken her hospitality to an entirely different level, as seen in photos that recently surfaced. Her steamy pose and chic look were likely enough to drop the jaws of every passenger who boarded the plane. Such an intimate level of hospitality is not something one typically experiences upon stepping into an aircraft cabin, making it all the more remarkable.
The greetings of flight attendants are usually tailored to the culture and values of the country where the airline is based. Still, this gal has clearly taken her hospitality to the next level. We can even say she's being extra!
These Suitcases Pack A Punch
At the Sacramento International Airport, visitors can behold an incredible sight—a massive structure of luggage carts standing 23 feet tall. This magnificent monument, created by Brian Goggin in 1998, is known as Samson and reminds us of the hard-working baggage handlers who transport our suitcases.
A white cart serves as the foundation, representing the carts used to transport the luggage. The sight of Samson is genuinely awe-inspiring and something you won't soon forget. It's an incredible attraction that serves as a unique reminder of the airport's purpose. So if you're at the airport, be sure to take a look at Samson. You won't be disappointed!
Their Merely Reminding Jasmine
A password on any digital device is essential to protect your personal information. Without it, we put ourselves at risk of having our personal information used in an unethical way. Jasmine recently learned this lesson the hard way when she left her phone at Newcastle International Airport.
It would have been a disaster if someone with malicious intentions had stumbled upon her device. Fortunately, the two men who found it were kind and humorous. Rather than take advantage of the situation, they took a funny selfie and posted it on Jasmine's Facebook to remind her to never leave her account logged in again.
Just A Super Mom Doing Her Thing
Traveling with an infant can be a stressful experience for any parent. Struggling to manage a grumpy and tired baby while dealing with disapproving looks and complaints from other passengers makes it even more difficult.
One super mom found herself in a situation where she had to go through security. With no one to help her, she had to find a way to keep her baby close while she tied her shoelaces. In a humorous moment, the mother placed her little one in the plastic bin for keeping personal belongings. Let's hope the child was retrieved before going through the security scanner!
She Has Her Own Font
We have seen children holding up signs welcoming their family and friends home. These signs are created mainly by adults, but not this time. A sweet little girl had crafted hers for her grandparents, using the letters she had learned in kindergarten. Even though the words were illegible, it was truly her effort.
We can still make out the word 'welcome' in her own font. Her grandparents were likely overwhelmed with emotion and pride, even though they could not read it. This heartwarming gesture reflects the little girl's love for her grandfolks, and it is sure to have made them feel special.
Nobody On Santa's Naughty List Here
Arriving at a final destination after a long and tiring flight, all passengers wanted was to collect their luggage and go on their merry way. However, on this particular flight, that wasn't possible as yet. Surprisingly, instead of feeling frustrated, the passengers were quite delighted.
On the conveyor belt were individually wrapped gifts for each of them, a gesture from a secret Santa from the airline. It was a perfect way to lift the spirits during this holiday season. What a great way to end a tiring journey! The airline's secret Santa had made the circumstance even more special, and the passengers were thankful for the thoughtful gesture.
Simon's Stuck In A Sticky Selfie Situation
When a married couple or those living together decide to share finances, they must be careful and mindful of their spending. This includes not making unnecessary purchases without consulting the other person. Unfortunately, this airport Simon did not heed this advice and bought a selfie stick without consulting his significant other.
This was likely an expensive purchase, which could have a negative effect on their financial plan. It is hoped that Britney was only joking when she said, "We're Done," as it would be a shame if a silly purchase such as a selfie stick led to their relationship ending.
No Need To Pay Us Any Attention
These days, it is almost unheard of for youngsters to go about their daily lives without their mobile phones. However, on rare occasions when they do, it is for something out of the ordinary, such as the stunt performed at the airport by two people in the photo.
The man appears to have just wanted to read his book, but the woman has other ideas. She likely wanted to entertain the travelers, and they must have practiced the stunt before attempting it. It certainly took a lot of strength for the man to balance the girl with one hand while reading with the other. Hopefully, no one was harmed.
